Fred Sicchart was born in Germany and was professionally trained at the famous art school, Kunstschule, in Augsburg. In 1959, he immigrated to the United States with his wife and daughter. His first art venture began with the opening of his Art Factory where he made a living silk screening rock tees which led to his famous commission to paint a mural on the side of the Hegewisch Records building in nearby Calumet City, IL.
